Rust in my wheels

When buying my car last month I noticed rust inside the rear wheels on/near the brakes. I was told by the dealer that this was normal and always happened and not to pay any attention to it. The rust still has not gone away - it's not real bad or anything..but wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing..you can only notice it when looking inside the wheel near the brakes. If no one knows what I am talking about I could provide a pic. Thanks.

when your car sits for awhile outside it will cause the rotors to rust. This also happens right after washing the car. After you drive the car the rust gets taken off by normal braking. Some of the residue of the dust will be left inside the wheel. Which will cause a layer of rust to build up in the wheel. Its nothing to worry about, the wheel itself is not rusting.
