Find a good tuner in your area and ask him the questions. If he's knowledgeable and up and up he'll be able to talk to you about the pitfalls of going FI.

I think I read that you have an automatic tranny, so you're stuck with two choices - supercharger or single turbo - because the 5AT can't handle much more than 400 whp without serious and expensive modifications. Much more than 400 whp will require expensive engine mods too.

First off you need to do research(try my350z.com) as it seems like you are a noob.I myself have a 2003 auto that was stillen s/ced since 8/03 cause everything else blew the motors up.In 05/2007 i went with the greddy twin turbos which i put on myself(warning do not try this yourself with engine in car) and then had it tuned.
Gilley says 400rwhp kills the at but in reality it is the rwt that kills the at trans..........so put in a valve body, trans cooler and a torque convertor and you will be ok...........for a certain power level. That torgue level is less then 400rwt after that look to get a rebuild at either sgp,gtm or hope to get lucky like me....hopefully holding on for awhile.

^ you seem to be lucky with your 5AT.

You would agree that over about 400 whp/tq will cost a lot to upgrade the 5AT though.

...Bingo !!

Now you can understand what all the bang-for-the-buck discussions are about.

I'm having the JWT TT setup installed real soon. My deal is I'll run
on stock internals until I'm ready for a stage 11 kit.

It's all about your needs/goals and $$$$$

I'll be happy with 400/400 for now

^ You have an MT, so it's less expensive to put hp to the wheels.

The sgp upgrade is around $3800 as is the gtm but you will get a at trans that will hold at least 600 rwhp and rwt.
