I've been watching this forum for a bit now in anticipation of finally selling my Porsche 924S and ordering a 6MT.
Yesterday the new owner drove off with the 924S and I'm raring to order the G35.
I'm not much for the sunroof, premium package and other goodies and so plan to just get the basic car. My question to you experienced 6MT owners is am I gonna miss something by not getting some options?
Any opinions on any of them? Must haves? Absolutely don't gets?
Any other words of wisdom before I plunk down the downpayment tomorrow?
I'll admit that I do get a little jealous when I see someone driving a fully loaded G with chromed stock 18's. Other than that, I'm happy with the options that I did get.

I would personaly get the premium package, just because like the feature of the auto dimmer rear view mirror is a great feature, and dual auto climate control. But like you said you dont want the sunroof, so i would just take another look at a car with the premium and see what you think.

Option packages from the dealer seem to be reasonably priced and add good re-sell advantages. The navigation system (NAV) to me is a bit pricey for $2,000. It's depends on your budget and if this factory install NAV look is worth the price. NAV systems can be purchased separately from other sources and give you portability to use in other vehicles.
the one thing you SHOULD get is the Premium kit. you can forgo everything else, but trust me when I say, the premium package is a great deal. auto headlights, sunroof, bose, autodimming mirror, dual climate controls, homelink.. probably a few other things that i missed. its worth every cent.

I just traded in my Porsche also. You know how expensive options are. Damn a Boxster stock is about 43K and when I was done with options I was at 59K....Every little thing costs you a ton. Now with the Infiniti, you looking at 32 base for the 6MT and with every option your still under 40K.......Premium, Nav and aero kit is 38.5k where I am. Thats what I just ordered on 12/2....
So from an old Porsche owner, you should be loving that options don't cost as much as the car. Go test drive one with some options and see what you like and spoil yourself!!!
March of 2004, My Diamond Graphite 6MT will be here
Well..the deed is done. Thank you all and I do appreciate your input.
I drove a Silver 6MT with all the goodies, then a Desert Platinum 6MT with just the Sat radio, splash guards, body side moldings and the truck mat. I dunno, the sun roof just didn't let the top view glide as well to my eye as the no sun roof. I was adament about not wanting the Sat radio and wasn't really too crazy about the splash guards and the side molding but otherwise, the car was what I envisioned. The Platinum was much better looking in the flesh than I thought it would be but I wasn't willing to pay the $400 they wanted for the Sat radio that I just wasn't going to use.
When the salesman returned from talking to the sales manager about finding what I wanted at some other dealership or just ordering, he mentioned that they could cut me some slack on the Desert Platinum if I would take it. Basically the price went from 33805 down to 33265. That's only a couple of hundred bucks from the basic 6MT with delivery so now what the hell do I do. I was all set to order and wait, not take immediate delivery. After some thought (not much), I decided to go ahead with the deal. On top of that, the F&I guy says he can get me a 3.5% simple interest loan on whatever part I want to finance. I had already lined up my Credit Union for a 4.25 or 4.5% so now I gotta make a decision about that.
They've got my deposit and I can pick the car up just about any time I want to including tomorrow. Talk about your early Christmas presents!
I wish it was that easy for me. I have to wait at least 4 months they say. Washington only has 1 dealership and they are going fast. They don't have any more 2004 Coupe's. Sold out, gone. They also have a list of about 35 that have been special ordered with people waiting. Well, I'm now on the list but I sure would like to have one in my garage right now. I need to move to Cali or go and buy one their and then drive it back.

Thankee kind Sir. This dealership in lil ole Greenville,SC has a half dozen coupes of various persuasions. They got caught shorthanded when they first came out and vowed nevermore.
Sorry you have to wait so long but hopefully the time will pass quickly.
I saw mine on Wed. and signed the paperwork by Sat. and that was a week ago, I love having it. I can't imagine having to wait 3-4 months for it. I would die everytime I saw one. Congrats on getting one.
[crazy]up here in Vancouver Canada, i was told the wait list is up to 6 months to get one[xx(] so if i were to order one now, i would get it about May/June 2004[:O][jaw]
