Default Anyone here buy their coupe NEW?

Just having some second thoughts on buying my car new versus an '05 or '06 used. The reason I bought it new is for the nicer spoiler on the '06+ 2007 Coupe 6MT, I have all the goodies, nav. etc.

I like the fact it has the warranty and everything but according to KBB I have already lost like $6k and have only owned it like 9 months.

When I drove it off the lot, it had door squeaks and rattles, the sunroof was completely LOOSE from the factory and popped when going over speed bumps. I had to get 4 panels replaced and the doors STILL rattle & Squeak to this day. Also, the driver's window had rattling but the dealer finally got that fixed... What a headache.

Since it was a black car it had spiderwebs, swirl marks, etc. that I didn't notice since I bought the car at night after work. They did their best to fix them, but I still notice the difference. I advise anyone to never buy a car at nighttime.

Anyways, just bitching, but I don't think a new car is worth the $$price premium of a used or certified. Needless to say this will be my last $40k car but I plan on keeping it a long time. Putting $1k tires on her every 15k miles is killing me. Also, the dealer sold me on some paint protection crap which was $1200 bucks and diddn't do jack shit. Total rip off.... Discuss.

I feel your pain. The tires lasting only 15k is ridiclous.. Don't give me the "it's a sports car excuse"... Being a fake sports car shouldn't be an excuse for bad camber, horrible feathering and cupping... This = bad suspension.. Not sports car.

i am on my 7th car in 10 yrs of driving and have yet to purchase one brand new. scared of the depreciation i guess (i change out cars roughly once every 18 months)...

as far as the G, it has lots of issues, but it's also very rewarding to drive sooo...

May of '07. 2007 Coupe with 80 miles, Navigation, 6MT, Sports Package, Premium Package, Aero Package (spoiler), for $35,600 (below invoice, $4k below MSRP). Out the door for about $40k. Guess I didn't do too bad! Only worth going new if you keep your car for a long time (~5 years or so which i plan on doing).

oh, I would still buy a fairly new one. a couple years old. as long as it can still be warrantied I dont mind. if kept in good condition, it is "good as new"

as for the panels being replaced, Ive never heard of that. the bose speakers? what were you doing? did you play van halen every day with the volume turned all the way up?

80 miles? Anything over 15 miles should be considered used. I bought an 06 back in Nov 06.. Same specs as your, but with Rear Active Steer. 40k out the door.

Picked up my 2007 obsidian black back in may of last year, it had 30 miles on the clock when i pulled off the lot. So far, the only problem i've had is keeping her clean...but i can see what you guys mean about swirl marks and paint chips on the black. I made a mistake of going thru an automatic wash once to get all the salt off...BIG MISTAKE!!! Took me 3 hours to buff all the damn scratches out of my hood . So far, no issues, just gotta keep an eye on the dealer trying to rip me off when it comes time for service. Also I'm scared of the window motor, b/c recently when i turned it off and shut my door, it didnt roll up all the way and left a crack. i hope it doesnt crap out on me; i only got 8k miles on her so far...
the best part i've enjoyed is the fact that I got to personally break her in, not someone else

mileage does not determine new/used status. if it's been titled, it's used. if not, it's new.
i've seen plenty of new cars, sold with over 100 miles on them.

I got my 06 with 14000 miles last month for $27,000.. From a dealer. They had a few 37s on the lot so I think they needed to get the 35s out of there. That and the fact that rear wheel drive coupes are slow sellers in new england in the middle of winter. If you can get one off the lot you do it I guess..

Nah, just RATTLES. Squeaks and rattles piss me off!!! They told me the sport suspension is horrible at keeping rattles out of your interior
