Angry Am I Getting Ripped Off? 60,000 Mile Service

Hello,

I have a 2004 G35 Coupe, AT, 61,081 miles on it. I went to my dealer on Thursday, 1/10/08 to get some front break pads replaced. I go to them since they have factory parts and deal with these cars everyday. I haven't taken my car anywhere else for service. I've gotten all oil changes done there and the 15,000 mile service done there as well. Fuel injection cleaning, even got them to replace all 4 of my summer tires for me. Anyway to make a long story short, I think they did not do all the work they promised they would do in the 60,000 mile service. For instance rotating and balancing the tires. I know with the summer tires you cannot do a normal rotate of the tires since the back tires are bigger than the front. But the rep said that is included, so I assumed they would take the wheel off the tire and remount them on the other side (driver to passenger side swap and vice versa.) Well I have a tire plug in one of my front tires, and it seems its on the same side, indicating no rotating was done. Also wheel weights was a part of the itemized list I received, so I imagine the old wheel weights were removed and new ones were added.

My question is this, how can I determine if they did everything they said they would without taking it to a new place. Can I look for specific things? I really want to own these bastards once and for all. They've been punks ever since I bought my car. Unfortunately I kept going. Any help would be appreciated!!

THANKS!!
thehin

Yes you are getting ripped off... if you read what the service is, alot of it is just check this and check that, but the dont replace.

You need to do two things. Check your manual, it will detail what the dealer is supposed to have done. Also check you invoice as they should have listed what was performed.

With these two itemized lists you can take a look at your car. If you notice things like this part is still dirty with absolutely no handling marks, the dealer might not have performed any work, etc. You can also check with your local BBB and see if they have complaints against them for lack of work.

Always ask for the parts that they replaced when you get work done. Of course, they could just give you someone else's parts, but it's better than taking their word for it.

I got 2000 dollars worth of service for free. They charged me for replacing my air filter, I opened the hood and my K+N was still sitting there. I then told them that I wanted to pay nothing for the entire service or I was going to call everyone on them. They agreed and I paid nothing for anything which was done that day .
