Default air pressure in low profile tires

I bought my coupe on August 28th and have never put air in the tires. They didn't look low to me and I just never checked them when all of a sudden the tire pressure light went on (2004 feature) and I pulled into a gas station and all my tires had pressure in the 20's Has anyone else had this happen? How often should I be checking them and is it unusual to lose this much pressure?[banghead]

the tire pressure thingie is nice. i check once amonth.i only see that kind of drop in the fall. i live in the frigid northeast. you may or may not know that for every 10 degree drop in temperature your psi is lowered by 1 degree. so by the time winter rolls around i know i will need to add 6 0r 7 psi. i see your in LA so not that much of a temperture swing. enjoy your G

psi

Yes, had the same problem too. Got the 18' wheels and have had the 6MT for just about a month and a half. All of a sudden the other day I pulled out of the driveway and the bell and warning light went on for low tire pressure. I pulled in to the gas station and all the tires were low. Was shocked. I am assuming it is the weather/temperature change recently.

LOL! I had the exact same thing happen: 1.5 months into having the car, my low tire pressure light came on and all my tires were between 28 & 31 pounds. The ironic thing is that a week after I filled them up, I got my first flat tire (!@#$%^&%$#@!). [!] I knew I shoulda bought that tire warranty when I got the car; sometimes you just gotta learn the hard way. [banghead]

I had the car for about a week before the monitor went off. Went to the gas station yesterday to check it out (didn't drive the G after the snow hit late last week).

The front tires were about 4psi low...the rear drivers side was fine, but the rear passenger side was set at 48PSI!!!!! How in the world could that happen?

I set all of them to 35 and went about my merry way....instant 2 mpg increase in gas mileage. Go figure...

I purchased some Tire Minder Safety Pressure Indicators that eliminates the guesswork of determining correct tire pressure. These easy to install replacement valve caps constantly monitor your tire pressure with clear, bright color indicators.

Come to Houston in July or August if you like hot weather. The heat here is so intense with a high humidity factor you feel like your actually melting walking across a cement parking lot to go to the store. Radio and TV stations requests that you stay indoors to keep from getting heat exhaustion.

Ugh, I've been there. I don't mind the heat as much (it gets plenty hot in Austin), but Houston is so humid that you can't sweat. It's like nature is deliberately trying to keep us from cooling off.
