Default G35's Reliable Up To and Past 100K Miles?

I'm pretty new to Infinities and wanted to know how they perform in the long haul. Is it safe to buy an 03' (with no problems so far) with 67K miles on it? Will it last to 100,000 miles with minor/no issues? How about after that? Does anyone have any experience with this? Any responses are greatly appreciated.

japanese cars are perhaps the best when it comes to reliabilty and life span. although toyota and honda are the superior makes, nissan is also a close 3rd.

to expect a vehicle to last you up to 100k miles +, is asking a lot of your vehicle. first of all, how do you know the wasn't mistreated by it's previous owners? do you know how it was broken into? what kind of gas and oil did they use? these are all important factors when it comes to the life span of your vehicle.

to be honest, it's almost impossible for any car to go up and beyond 100k miles without giving any problems.

I've got an 03 with 86,xxx miles (I know, I drive a lot). So far, it still drives brand new *knock on wood* The only thing I had to replace was the drive belt. Other than that - still pulling strong. I'm even still running on the original battery. I'll replace it before winter starts though. Solid car - I might find out if I can get it to 7 millions miles!!!....

i dunno, these cars don't come across as the most reliable to me... when you are talking about it as a japanese car... not in the same realm as the hondas and toyotas.

dont get me wrong, i love my car, but i would not keep it past 80k miles for sure.

Grant it, these cars are pretty reliable in General. They are not the type of cars to "stop running" and leave you stranded. That aside, other than the normal tire and rattle issues, over the long haul, it might be possible to need to change the CD changer on the early G35s, window motors, and of course the notorious compression rods. It's really a matter of tossing a coin as too whether you will need these items or not as some owners get away without replacement. Overall is is a good car with a strong drivetrain. Good luck.

i don't see why it wouldn't run well past 100k.. i don't understand why people think the G's are so "unreliable".. as long as you take care of it and get the proper maintence, it should run fine past 100k..

The 3.5 in the G will easily surpass 100K miles and then some.

LEGENDARY ENGINE and drivetrain!

wait are we talking whether or not these cars will still be running @ 100k miles? there isnt a car in production today not expected to run past 100k. i thought he was asking about the reliability of the car as a whole. there have been so many early-on problems in these cars, many of us have experienced them, which is why i'd be concerned to have one into the 6 figured mileage...

the tire wear thing is not curable, so that is something you will have for life. also i remember someone on here saying his car was starting to sag pretty bad due to the unibody. not sure who that was.

excellent car to buy new/relatively new, but can't say i'd recommend buying a thoroughly used one.

I love the G, but I agree.. driving my car w/o some major work seems kinda iffy at 100K miles, Ive had many probs and I have an 04 with 28K miles.. I have had a slew of electrical problems more than anything.. one after another.. hopefully I just got a bad one though.. I am keeping an eye out how many '03's and '04's I see on the road running well before I decide to buy an 08 or 09.. Especially with Toyotas being so reliable.

Hello Y'all,

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

I am a newbie to this site...Joined a few minutes ago.
I am also a newbie to the G' family: Just bought an '08 G35X spanking new.
Have only just completed the first 1000 miles in 4 weeks.

Love every passionate moment with it.

Any words of wisdoms and prognosis for the future?

Whatelse do we talk about around here?
