I have just check out with my friend. He told me the breeeding plug/nut is right next to our transmit. So I am thinking to take out the whole clutch oil. Now I just need to find a time to bring my car into my friend's shop and do it on myself. Also can we put DOT5 into our 6mt cars?

This has happened to me several times. I have an '05 sedan. When it happens, the pedal actually stays fully depressed and as i revved up to get a good launch, I can smell burnt clutch. I'm afraid I'll kill my clutch if I keep doing it. I'm going to try changing the fluid to see if that works.

Thanks to everyone who posts this useful info.

Is it possible to perform this same fluid rotation with the brake fluid as well? It is hydraulic too, I dont see why not..

Yes, you can change the brake fluid.

Im having a similar problem with my clutch...One thing that scares me is that the clutch smells like burning break pads...Ive got 33k miles on my car. This just started. i called the dealership today and they want to test drive it. I asked him about the clutch fluid and he said its the same as the break fluid. Is this correct??? Also, for those who have had this same problem, did your RPMs rev up and then drop and then level out?

Hey just came across this post, first thanks to JTG35 for posting this information.

My symptoms are similar to others, pedal sticks, after driving in traffic or in hot weather. At first it seemed that the Internet was telling me the true issue was the clutch cylinders but now it seems like it is only the fluid. I'm going to give this a shot tomorrow.

This morning my clutch pedal was stuck overnight and at first I couldn't get my car out of first gear, that scared the sh!t outta me! I'll report back.

well I just got finished with the swap. Took about 20 minutes. Cost me $10.

I used a 'dripless' turkey baster and the Penzoil Dot 3 Brake fluid, both from Wal-mart. For those out there that are novice DIY-ers I highly recommend you put a towel on your side of the car where you'll be working (This may be common sense or stating the obvious to a mechanic, but doesn't hurt to mention). I changed the fluid three times and placed the cap back on in between clutch pumps.

As far as disposal of the old fluid, I'm taking mine to my city's Hazardous waste disposal center. I wonder if I could just take it to a Jiffy Lube or Midas or something. Any one ever tried this?

Actually 'engine on', and hot, so the oil is thinner and the dirt/smudge that's clogging the master and slave cylinders is loose. I did mine just last night.

Hi all... sorry for not giving you guys any updates... I did the fluid rotation, but it still happened. So I took it to the dealer, and I made it happened "Sticking clutch". They changed the clutch, presuree plate etc... Got the car back, the same day.... sticking clutch came back. Without a word.... drive back to dealer...... at first they told me, they have changed everything.... Then i told them... you still need to change master and slave cylinders. Finally they agreed with me, but only changed master cylinder. Its been like 2 months..... it has not coming back ever since. So I think i am fine for now. So make sure you let them change your master cylinder.
