Default clutch interlock switch

Has anyone run into the issue with your car not starting the first time you press your clutch due to the interlock switch not engaging? I have noticed this happening recently and getting worse almost making some days impossible to start my car. I took it to the dealer since it is still under warranty and they tell me to replace my clutch, yet when I leave my car starts great for a few weeks? Is this some sort of safety feature or is something really wrong with my clutch? I do not feel anything abnormal when driving. I read some threads about adjusting the interlock switch which I have not done yet, thought I would see if anyone had similar issues.

I have personally never had this problem but the mechanism at work is very simple. If I remember correctly, there are two proximity switches that the clutch peddle interacts with. One is activated when the clutch is all the way up (to disengage cruise control when you start pressing on the clutch) and the other is activated when the clutch is all the way down to allow for the starter to run. Both are easily adjustable and if you lay on your back and put your head where your feet usually go, it should all be very obvious. As to why the stealer would say you "need a new clutch"... I have no idea. I would never go back there again. Adjust or replace (if faulty) the switch and you should be all set.
