Default miles........need answer.

what is the mileage for the car? I think is 19 city and 26 highway, but few day ago I filled 6 gallon, so 6 gallon is 114 miles, but it works just 90 miles.
do you think there is a problem with my car burning so fast?

The EPA milage is a reference guideline - what you get depends on how you drive, and how you maintain your car (tires, air filters, gas, ... as so on, all affect gas milage).

I average around 20 mpg in mixed driving, and 28 or 29 on freeway trips when I stay pretty close to the speed limit.

Remember when they figure the EPA rating they literally baby the car. So it's very unlikely that someone will even get near the EPA rating driving "normally". I've read that the EPA are thinking about re-structuring their testing process to reflect a more "realistic" measurement.

Anyone getting over 24 is driving like a granny. I tried it and could only get to 24MPG.

What's that whipper-snapper? Mocking Grandma's driving style? lol... yeah on a looong trip I got about 24mpg, with a little city driving... pretty good considering EPA's inflated measurement methods..

The revised ratings go into effect on 08 model year cars iirc.

A friend of mine ran the Infiniti dealership in San Diego. As an experiment, they "re-chipped" the cars to see what kind of mileage they could obtain. They were able to push it up to almost 30MPG but the power was really down. I prefer the power with the "average" MPG.
