GOING TO NJ LEMON LAW COURT CALLING ALL NJ COUPE O
I began my lease in May. Since then my radio has not worked properly. My Dealership "Circle Infiniti" tried many times to fix the very poor radio reception I was getting. They gave up and told me to contact Infiniti Corp. Infiniti corp told me that if and when a correction could be made they would contact me. I gave Infiniti Corp. Two months. I now qualify for the NJ Lemon Law. I have a court [boxing]date next month. It is amazing that even though Infiniti Corp brushed me off... they still send me satisfaction surveys???????? Hows that for customer service[banghead]. Do not get me wrong I love this car, but the brush off I have gotten is dishearting to say the least. Anyone out there with a word of advice for me?
It sounds like you're doing the right thing. Maybe next time they'll be quicker to help if enough people take them to task on it. Did they have any comments about the court date? Maybe they'd be willing to settle before then.

Actually the STATE OF NJ is demanding their appearance. At this point Infiniti Corp is silent. I just want a radio. They are fools. I am just looking for what I paid for nothing else. They are required to have a lawyer. Legal fees will cost them more than just fixing my problem.
I am having some problems with Infiniti currently as well. I can't really get into details, but I will just say that I have taken similar routes and am going to have to take it one step further than you have. I am glad that you were able to get the car certified as a lemon. Hopefully Infiniti will be able to realize their error. Even more so, let's hope that they actually treat you with respect from now on.
That's a good point. It's gotta hurt to have a luxury car declared a lemon over something as stupid as a radio. Right now they're trying to build a reputation, and incidents like these won't help them.

I am very curious about what problems you are having? Maybe in another forum? Maybe we could IM sometime? Thanks for the support and good luck to you as well
I am not really in a position to say anything other than the fact that I am having problems with both my car and the Infiniti dealership that I had been bringing my car to. Most of the problems revolve around the fact that they wrecked my car while they had it and didn't inform me and refuse to fix it properly. It gets much more in depth and a lot uglier, but I would prefer to wait until after everything is settled to discuss details.
EDIT: Unless you are a lawyer? I already have one, but second opinions never hurt.
I hate to rain on your parade, but there is no way in hell you will ever win a lemon law case over a car radio.
Believe me, I've been down the lemon law road before, and having a faulty radio is not going to qualify your car to be considered a lemon.
If you doubt me, do a little research on lemon laws in various states.
BTW, if they do appear in court (which is doubtful, because nearly all auto manufacturers require you to go thru a 3rd party before any type of court), then they will simply fix your car correctly, not give you a lemon law award.
And keep in mind that you said that you are only having "reception problems" with you radio. I hope you bring a lawyer, because you'll most likely need one to get anything accomplished.
Yesterday I drove my G35c on a trip I have taken many times in other cars. It's through the desert and over some mountains. The topogrophy is very distinct and over the years I have measured the consistency of AM/FM radio reception along this route. My G35 has average reception capabilities, very consistent with my 89 Supra (external antenna) and better than my 82 Supra (windshield antenna).
If the problem you are having is focused on the radio reception maybe you should temporairly hook up an external antenna with a rubber suction cup mount to see if this makes reception better/more satisfactory. If it does, then you could consider installing an automatic trunk mount external antenna. Also, you could point out your improved reception to the dealer who could then focus on fixing the G35's antenna matrix.
Good luck with resolving the reception problem! I think it is very unfair for any dealer to refer it's customer up the line without first doing this for you.

Tom thanks for the info. Are you friends with the lawyer you promoted? Just to inform you that the lemon laws here in NJ are diiferent from where you come from I guess, because NJ is pretty strict on what is an acceptable lemon law claim. They review my claim first before even taking any fee from me. The State was pretty thorough with my claim and called several times for clarification before accepting claim. By the way, the state personally arranges a court date by phone with me and infiniti corp. If Infiniti does not show they lose. I just want the radio fixed that's all. I know a new car might be out of the question. The state advised me to make the claim still. Infiniti is foolish to spend so much money on a lawyer. Time better spent on working with me. It amazes me that if someone took time to sit in my car they would what I am taliking about. I have good documentation trust me. This will be the best 50.00 dollars(court fee) I ever spent.
I did not promote any lawyer.... I simply said that you should get your own lawyer to represent you to have any chance at winning.
I am from New York, which has very similar lemon laws to New Jersey.
Having a lemon usually means that the car in question has some serious problems that cannot be repaired by the dealership/manufacturer after several attempts. But the problem should be a serious problem that affects the safetly or driveability of the car. To win because of radio reception is unlikely, although probably not impossible. But understand what I'm saying here-- To WIN is to return the car for a refund or get the car replaced with an identicle model. If you succeed in getting your car repaired, then you did not win a lemon law case.
i lemoned my GTI VR6 car due to a squeeky clutch..got fullll refund and basically drove the car for free for 2200 miles. Don't worry psychlance, if i could lemon a car cuz of a squeeky clutch im sure you wouldn't have a problem with radio reception..they are both small things but still problems. doesnt matter how big the problem is , you can lemon it.
i used an attorney...i first asked volkswagen of america nicely to take my car back. They said no there is no problem with the car..i insisted that they would save money my taking the car back..but they said no...i contacted a lemon law attorney in california...they called me back 2 weeks later and faxed me paperwork to sign and fax back..once that was done i picked up my check and dropped off my car at the volkswagen dealership. The dealership paid 2,000 for my attorney fees. The lemon law states that the defending party is responsible to plaintiff's attorney fees if plaintiff is victorious. My attorney was not gonna charge me if i wasn't victorious. He said that they will have to win the case and thats what they did.
