i dunno about 'way faster'... the 330 is pretty quick. but i do believe the g is slightly faster.

I'd definitely pick the G over the BMW when you're at 40,000 some odd miles. I'd be much more confident that I won't have as many issues. True you'll hear horror stories on both sides but I don't think you hear as many for the G. Even if it's covered by warranty it still doesn't change the fact that it's a major inconvenience. If you are most concerned about reliability I think the infiniti is the way to go (consumer reports seems to like this car a lot as well). I'm a huge BMW fan and have been for well over 10 years but when it comes to my hard earned money I couldn't pass up the extra power and reliability of the G. I'll deal with the rattle.

Also, I believe the term is "Italian tune-up" when you rev the engine high. My sister drove her 94 acura integra like a granny and by the time I got my hands on it (@ 60 or 70k miles 10 years later) the engine was very tight and weak. Granted it was an older car but it just lost a lot of power. I felt a big difference after working the car out and doing normal routine maintenance on it. I've heard several theories on how best to break in your car, some say to drive it easy for the first few thousand miles and then drive it hard for another 2 or 3 thousand miles and then drive it normally. This gets the engine used to high rpms after the initial break in and it won't buckle under the stress of high rpms later in the engine's life.

^^^ Yea thats what i've heard. If the engine doesn't get worked through its whole Rev range on a fairly regular basis, it can weaken the engine. But hitting the rev limiter all the time is really bad, so don't take it all the way up...
