does '05-'06 g35 coupe projector headlights fit on a 2003 coupe?
I owed a 2003 g35 coupe and looking to change out my stock headlights. I'm wondering if the 2005-2006 model of the g35 coupe with projector headlights fit onto my 2003 coupe. Please help! thank you
I was talking to the Infiniti Dealership and they stated that it is better to change the ballast if you want to upgrade from HID to the 06 Projector headlights.
**IS THIS TRUE?
They stated that they projector headlights have a stronger ballast than those that come stock with HID.
***They said that it would fit and everything would WORK, but the light shown would not be as stong as a TRUE 06 G35 with projector headlights that already came stock on it.
The dealer if full of shit. Both the D2R bulb in the 03-05 reflector housing and the D2S bulbs in the 06-07 probector housings are 35 watts and both are HID.
The 03-05 ballast will work fine with the 06 projectors, but 3 of the four pairs of bulbs are different between the reflector and projector housings, including the HID bulbs.
You can get quality bulbs online for less than $125.
I installed the 06 projectors on my 04 coupe. They are plug and play and the projectors have much better light output.
This is a project that you can wasily do yourself.

Anywhere you know to get the 06 lights at a good price?
I don't know. The really cheap ones are takeoffs from the recall that were never destroyed. Nothing really wrong with them though except the light pattern is apparently a little bit high.

I got a pair of 06 for 350 shipped. I know i have seen them cheaper, but youll just have to look around. I know mine are one of the recalled sets but i havent noticed anything wrong with them at all.
