Default Oil change at dealer or somewhere else?

I am due for my 3 month service. The dealer wants $45 for an oil change. I was going to go to Sears, but the car is a lease and I am worried about any damage. Where do you guys go?

Also, I want my tires rotated, but the dealer says they won't do it until the 6 month/7k service. My steering feels funny when cornering, but the dealer doesn't seem to take it seriously. A mechanic drove the car around the block and said the car is fine.

I buy my own case of oil that I want (royal purple 5w30 synthetic) and get my oil changed at my local nissan dealership since it is close by and they charge me $16 (with nissan oil filer).

that's the thing with dealers. everything is fine unless u have to pay!
i have the same situation and im doing oil change at a local shop. i dont think there's anything to break during the process unless they havent done it before... actually even if they havent, it's pretty straight forward process

go to walmart, get the giant jugs of oil and a mobil 1 filter and do the oil change yourself .

or as suggested you can try a Nissan dealer if you want to save some money.

oh and I am assuming you have a coupe.... if you you probably have a staggered set up on your tires. (skinnier tires up front and fatter tires in the back_) if that is the case ... you CAN'T Rotate your tires!!

I don't trust the oil jockeys at the quickie places to put all the bolts back in the cover under the oil drain!

A Nissan Dealer, generally cheaper than Infinti, trusted independent mechanic, or DIY.
Avoid the Jiffy Lubes, etc. ..trouble waiting to happen.

Check this out guys. I was at the Infinti dealer the other day for some rattle elimination and asked about the oil change, They wanted $50 plus tax for a regular oil change and when I asked about putting in Mobil 1 syth. they told me $85. That is nuts. When I was in San Diego it cost me $20 when i brought my oil and filter. There is no way I am spending $85 on an oil change. i am going to check out the Nissan cost and maybe do it myself if the price is high.

The only reason why I go to the infiniti dealer is they clean the inside of my car and wash it. I figure 20 dollar oil change, 20 dollar car wash. Very helpful when you live in an apartment without a hose.

Other than that Nissan dealership sounds like a good plan if you don't want to do it yourself.

Default Good tip on the Nissan dealer.........

I went to the Nissan dealer, right across the street from my Infiniti dealer. They changed the oil and washed the car for $25+tax. The waiting area was dirty, but I saved 20 beans.

When you guys take your car to the dealer, you ever notice how uptight-looking a lot of Infiniti owners are?

Not really, but the same dealer also sells Porches, Volvos and Mercedes so it may just be that the owners of those brands are even more uptight looking.

The Porsche salesmen were assholes, acting as if merely my looking at the cars made their value go down.
