Ok., so I get into my car this morning and the TPMS light comes on. 1st time ever!!!
Thinking I have a flat tire... I get out and check my tire pressure. fronts are about28-29psi and rears are at 30psi. I know a bit on the low side but by no means should be setting the sensor off!!! (had a temperature drop of about 20-30 degrees this week so that might have changed the pressure a bit -anyway)
I drive down a couple of miles and the light does not go out. So I pull into a gas station and fill the tires up to 35psi. Sut down the car. Start her back up and the light is still on.
pull out of the gas station, and 1 block later get on the highway. On the entrance ramp as I am going about 20mph the light goes out.
I have a '06 G. Are the TPMS sensors that sensitive in the '06???? if so i have no problem with it but everything I have read shows that they only go on if the tire pressure is below 20psi???? Any input as to what happened is appreciated!!!!!
Please... those bammas go off whenever they effin' please!!
Mine been on for like 8 years now... took Miruku to the mechanic like 3 times, no problem, pressure fine... took it to the dealership, got it reset... guess what light still comes on.... i don't care anymore, whatever!!
yeah mine have gone off multiple times during the winter when the temp would drop. its a pain in the ass. i've also had it go off, filled up the tires, and the light never went away. randomly, like days later, the light goes off.
Sounds about right. When I still had mine in my wheels they would go off around there too. Nothing out of the ordinary. Having the TPMs go off at 20 psi is way way too low.

If you run without them, the light won't go on cuz the puter doesn't see them, or so I've read this in other threads.
If you run with new ones, puter knows they're there but will ignore them until they're paired/registered with your puter and will show no light even if you have low tire pressure or flat until they're paired.
This I know from personal experience. Had a blow out on new rim/tire with new tpsm before pairing and no light came on.
Another possiblity is, these TPSM's have batteries in them. If one or more bats are weak or dead, it'll activate the light or make the puter start acting stupid.
mine went on when i put on my winter wheels and then went back off, it used to go on from time to time with my oem 19's, and now it is on all the time with my rh wheels. i wish i could just pull a fuse or something.
