anyways they are saying that the cost is something like 450 for the front if just the pads and resurfacing the rotors... 1360 if they need to be replaced, and the back is going to be 1100 for new rotors and pads.

so i did what any sane person would do...told them to not touch the car after the oil change and i'll be there to pick it up... i talked to a guy who owns a 6MT at performancenissanparts.com and he told me that stoptech 1 piece kits are a good simple solution or for the long run to do the 2 piece which is what he personally has on his vehicle. the 2 piece rotors allow for you to only have to replace the outside rotor over the long run...but they're pricey up front and will cost less for replacements later...

i'm guessing i'm going to go with the stoptech 1-piece slotted kit all around personally...and pads i dunno? Infiniti said they wont do the job...so i'm going to see if this website's physical location has a shop... if not any recommendations in Los Angeles?

questions on the floor:

help? Ideas? Opinions? Ninjas?
Lambo,
Performancenissanparts is a Nissan dealer in Duarte called (you guess it) Performance Nissan. They are very mod friendly, so I would highly recommend you getting the parts and have it installed there. If anything talk to either Jason Mendelson or Jeff the manager (@ Internet parts) and tell them Clint (G35) sent ya.

IMHO, if the rotors and pads need replacement it make absolutely no sense to pay more for the oems, when you could have the Stoptech 1-piece. For pads, either the Hawk HPS, Axxis Deluxe Plus or Axxis Metal Master will work very nicely for the street.

my car is at 44k miles... is that normal wear?
Yep - some of the people on the list only got 20K out of their Brembo's. I replaced mine at 36K because I was tired of cleaning my wheels every weekend.

I have 40k on my 2004 and am due for a brake job. I ordered StopTech Stage 1 Kit but my dealer won't touch them b/c they're "not OEM". So I too have to find a shop that will install them for me or I'll have to get dirty-dirty one weekend.
- One thing that struct me was that the car doesn't come with steel brake lines!??? But am glad the Stop Tech Stage 1 Kit does!

^^^ That's braided steel lines I hope.
AP Racing IMO is the way to go.
6 piston front
4 piston rear
Heard many +++ things about them and performance. Better than Stop-Techs.
My .02 worth.
