Default Hey, new here...

Hello everyone! I've been lurking for a little while now and finally decided to join since my itch to buy a G coupe is becoming more than moderately irritating I must say you all seem like very knowledgeable people and I look forward to becoming more well versed on the topic of these beautiful cars.

After researching I'm thinking the 05 coupe is going to be the right decision for me assuming I can afford it monitarily (I'm fresh out of school and currently looking for my first career opportunity). Thus any advice you can give me about which model to buy, what options, what problems to look for when buying or anything at all would be awesome.

Thanks everyone!

Well since it doesnt appear you have kids I'd say go with a coupe...Auto or manual is really your choice...and the other options id just go with what youre willing to pay for. The Sport Tuned suspension package with the 19's is a really good idea though and i love it.

You might look into getting an 06 too. An 05 won't be that big a difference in price. If its only a few grand you might as well get a brand new one.

Coupe or Sedan, you can't go wrong. Just a matter of preference. Along with a 5AT or 6MT.

I appreciate the welcome guys!

And yes 2 things I know I'm getting for sure 1) Coupe 2) 6MT.

Other than that I'm still trying to do research and decide what the best route to take is. I just got done reading through the 03/04/05 differences thread and I think that helped quite a bit. I guess if the 06 isn't that different in price than the 05 I will definintely consider that. All I know is I'm going to wait for the 07's to roll out because i'm assuming this will probably cause a substantial drop in the 03-06's (please correct me if i'm wrong).

You probably get in way earlier than me.....I usually get in about 8. I'll park next to you one day when a spot is available...

bought my gialla grill used off some dude.....if you decide to get it brand new, i suggest you get the utr or silvia ones, they're about $150. Gialla grills are about $300 new.

I do...I'm in at 7. If you park next to me then I won't have to worry about anyone hitting my car....I don't right???

Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into those.

(I think we started taking over this thread!)

Welcome.

With the fact that you are just out of school, I'd suggest you disregard the 06 models and focus in on a lower mileage 04/05 model. The 04/05 models should be much more in the price range of a soon to be employed person. The 04's might be a bit more touchy since they were the earlier models and as such have less of the bugs worked out, but you will be getting Brembos, the 05's no Brembos, but less buggy.

In any case best of luck looking for your car.
