How the hell was the wiring run??? The main power should be connected directly to the battery, with at least a 40A fuse run within 12" of the battery in line of the power wire. Unless you ran the power wire off of something like a cig liter or something, there should be no reason to melt a fuse box. The only thing that should be run off the fuse box is the remote for the amp, and sometimes that isn't something you should be doing. Installing an aftermarket dvd player should be a walk in the park, for it pulls almost no amperage at all, especially a 12v dvd player. You should stay away from home 120v players, as the inverter usually messes up the signal. Make sure you have it professionally done, as there is no reason you should skimp on price after you have dropped $35k-$40k on a car. I am not getting on to you, but it seems like some people on here want to take the cheapest route possible on installing various things on there car. It's not a civic. Oh, and welcome.

yea i have to agree.. if your gonna get something done have it done right... and dont take it to some small little mom and pop shops... they're usually willing to do anything for some work even if they really dont know what they're doing... i had a friend have a system installed on his Z and they fucked up his car... scratched a lot of the interior tore a part of his seat.. it was so bad...

also G35'S ARE A BITCH TO TAKE A PART and most shops havnt touched one.. i took mine to al and eds a place with certifed installers and it took them 2 hours just to research on how to take the dash off... but they did a really clean job on my install... if you got the cash i'd go to a place like that or a good audio shop... you dont want to risk getting your interior eff'ed up just to save yourself a few bucks.

these are the concerns i am having...i may even pass all together for a while with the dvd player because of the fact that the car is brand new and i dont want to start having everything taken apart. Especially the dashboard once it never goes back together the same. Thanks for your help...ill try reasearching a few audio places and see wat i come up with.

All I have to ask is, why? It is a driving machine not an SUV. I had two TVs in my trooper and never used them. Unless it is a family hauler, my suggestion is skimp on the DVD and put that money into intake, exhaust, mrev, ztube. Trust me, you will have a bigger grin on your face from those than any other electronic device in there. Why do you think high end German cars don't have cup holders? They actually DRIVE!

its true, u know ur not gonn use em, you wont wanna be riding passenger in ur fly new whip right?!

What I did was place a PSP in that lil box where the Nav system is placed. Its held by velcro, wit plenty it stays firm (since you can feel the most of the road on the potenzas or other low pros). MIGHT sound ridiculous but wit an FM adapter it seriously works well:

Heres an OK photo wit my cell:

Unless u want great size then its seriously big enough
Still you dont worry about an install which ive always always been worried about.

You can play your mp3, TV shows, Sony UMD (dvds) music videos, sports games, etc, anything u can upload to the PSP and it sounds excellent on the stock system.

talk about Play Station Portable :]

Default dvd player

who watches TV or movies in the car anyhow? I don't see the hoopla unless you have an SUV and kids.

I do all the time.... some times im on the road and im gonna miss 24 or LOST so i just switch my tv tunner on and pull over somewhere and watch or i let my girl drive my car while i watch... Also movies... went to Las Vegas a couple weeks ago had 4 people in the car and we watched movies the whole way there... my headunit has DTS enabled on it and hooked up properly (thank you Al and Ed's) and with my speakers and subs it sounds like im in a movie theater literally.. IMO very worth it.
