sorry for not answering earlier guys... i got the head unit when i got the car jan of 05 the head unit cost me $1250 plus about 400 for install including all the custom work and the after-market a/c controller. The head unit is the Alpine IVA-D300 Touch Screen Multi-Media station with a 7" screen.. I got all the little add ons too like the sirius radio and media expander kit... The custom spray on the dash cost me $200 and its a Momo shift knob cuz the OEM one is too big and would hit the screen when it went down. Momo shift knobs are hard to find cheap... i got mine at autobacs for $103. The screen flips down and when you turn the car off it retracts into the headunit making it look like a shitty head unit
Also i took out the blose system and put all new components and 6x9's in the car... MB Quart Premiums all around and 2Alpine Type X 10" woofers in the rear each putting out 1000watts rms
By the way you can get these now for cheaper or even the new model the IVA-D310 but still is a very worth it mod if you have the money and the sound is much much better... i kinda did all this before the mod bug bit me... i hadnt discovered engine mods yet... but yea if your gonna do this mod make sure its a good audio shop that does the work or ur gonna mess up ur car... Also if you get the HU with the navi incorporated it will actually talk to you as you drive

Thanks dude... i got it done January of 05.. i got it done at Al and Ed's in Brea... its off the 57...kinda close to where the 57 and 91 meet... by the Brea mall if you know where that it... the owner of the place is named Joe he does good work and gives u good prices... i had another shop that wanted to charge me $1600 for the head unit alone with the sirius and no media expander and their installer there does really good work.
Im kinda new to this forum...i just picked up my g35 coupe 6mt dymond graphite aero,navi, basically with everyone...above the glove compartment area is the dvd player for the navi cd...is the dvd player capable of playing dvd movies??? I know other model infinities are able to do this.

haha u know wat ur soooo right i took my g out last night around 10 to take some picture at this spot i know and i finally got on it...i didnt realize how much power this car acually had...i couldnt resist after that...i think ur right im going to do some engine mods now the problem is this is going to void the waranty on the car? Im going to check wih the dealer and find out.. the first thing im thinking about doin is a cold air intake any ideas?

search my friend, on here, even so, most mods wont give u a massive amount of hp increases, the G is not an RSX_

but watching 24 and Lost on the road - all I have to say is TIVO! - but still awesome I just spent a bunch of money on a clear bra and have to get Tint and Sirius next... maybe next year on the headunit and speakers

Zero real quick, yeah I like the shift knob, but just throwing it out there, if it hit the shifter on retracting, why didnt you put the screen on the top din?

doing a custom install on that little box requires you to cut into the a/c vent behind the center console which is a pain in the ass and secondly the shift knob wasnt necessarilty hitting the screen but it was a bitch to put cd's in which the car was in park and plus the stock shift knob is ugly IMO. So i bought that one, its kinda hard finding one that'll work properly and look good when combined with our dash
