Summary:
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE FUEL FILLER HOSE MAY CRACK AND RESULT IN FUEL LEAKAGE FROM THE HOSE WHILE REFUELING.
Consequence:
FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL FILLER HOSE. RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 27, 2006, FOR NISSAN OWNERS, AND ON MARCH 13, 2006, FOR INFINITI OWNERS. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261 OR INFINITI AT 1-800-662-6200.
Its been some time, and still have not received anything in the mail about this recall. I understand you can just take your car in and get the work done, however, for something this dangerous I would think Infiniti would be more pro-active in written notification on something like this.

I had a TSB for my 6MT sedan that dealt with the fuel feeder hoses, they had to drop the rear suspension when they fixed it but it went off without a hitch, in fact, they tightened up the rear so it actually handles better (if that was possible). I have the sport package so it has good springs and shocks anyhow, even though it rides a bit rough. Generally, the service people at the dealer have been trained on the TSBs, they just don't have them go at it cold. The fuel pump is in the tank so they will probably drop the suspension as well to get at the tank. Don't fret, TSBs and recalls are a part of life with new cars. My aunt just had her new S550 recalled! $80K! Means nothing.
