from what i understand, the z tube is the black tube that connects to the air filter box in a 350z. we've got one too, but theirs is better. the shape of the 350z tube is better for gas mileage and air flow than the one that comes in our cars. it looks like it'd be pretty easy to install too, but it's kinda tight in there. i think it's only about 80 bones as well. that's not bad at all.
The midgets are showboaters, eh? Barney's gonna stick Dino on their asses for showing him up, because it took him like 25 minutes to install mine using a Teradactyl leg-bone and a rock as his only tools.

Ha! My midgets carry their own midget tools. And yes, they're showboaters. They're related to Mini Me.
By the way, nice job with the bone and rock.

The difference in sound is only really noticeable at or near WOT. I noticed that the engine "snarls" a little louder when you lift off the throttle at high RPMs, too.
To the person who asked if anyone put the K&N sticker on their car, I did. I put it on the Z-tube. I did it mostly so that if I take it to the shop and they, for some reason, need to remove my air filter, they will hopefully notice that it's a K&N and won't discard it.
I noticed the sound difference around 4k rpm. I don't really care about the sound because I like the sound of the stock engine. Anwyays, I was thinking about getting a CAI but then I didn't want to deal with the sound and the numbers weren't too impressive, that's why I went with the Z-tube, to get a small change in sound. The HP gains are negligible IMO.

I put my sticker on there for this reason as well. The likelyhood that I would ever bring my car in for service anywhere is not that good, but still.. If I bring it in to Infiniti for a warranty repair, and they should for some reaosn decide to change my air-filter, I don't want them trashing my K&N.
