Default climate control settings

Hi everyone,

I've been reading this forum for awhile and have finally decided to post. I have an '04 Coupe AT.....I know what everyone is thinking....boo on the automatic...but when you live in a 4 season climate, the automatic is a littel better for the winter, plus the brakes on the automatics are completed covered under warranty where the Brembos are not.

As for my question - does anyone know how to change the settings on the climate control when it is on automatic (ie from floor, defrost, etc). Mine when in automatic is stuck on floor and I can't seem to figure out how to change it without the heat controls changing to manual from automatic.

If anyone can help me out, that would be great!

Push the mode button. I've got an '05 and this always works.

Ohh and welcome.

If i push mode, it automatically goes to manual A/C. If I keep pushing it, it will eventually go back to automatic, but only on the floor option.

I don't think you can on the 04's.. that has always bugged me with my car, but I keep it on manual and live with it.

Try this, push the econ button, and that's when the fans will increase and adjust the temperature, then decease the fan by pushing the minus (-) button, and then push the mode button to direct the air flow.

Typically, this is what I always do when I enter my car and I have the ac on. If the mode button doesn't work, go see the dealer.

It's cold these days. So the automatic control sets it to floor knowing warm air will naturally circulate upwards. When you push the MODE button to redirect the air, you MANUALLY changed that. So it tells you it's in manual mode now -- what you saw is normal. You did get the direction to change right? And the fan is still automatically controlled at that time, I believe.
