Quick question, How should I break in my new 2006 G? I have been going fast then slow as to not have the engine at a constant speed? Any suggestions? I have about 670 miles on it, how long should I "Break it in"?
I would say 1500-1600 miles then change the oil then after that... you should be okay...alot of people have different break in prefrences...dont forget change the oil again at 3200 miles then after that every 3000 miles from then on.

Thanks guys!
I am very PICKY about my G,
Last night I took a Girl, (The first Girl in my new G) out for dinner, she wanted to bring home her left overs. Well, I didnt want to seem like a weirdo so I was like ok. It was in my truck for like 15 min and when I got in it kinda stunk. It went away though, THANK GOD!
Most people agree that you should try to keep from doing full-throttle acceleration stints until you've reached about 800-1000 miles. Don't drive at a constant speed for prolonged time periods either.... as it is recommended to vary the speed of your driving and do some consistend and moderate acceleration. Keep the revs below 3500 RPM's too.
There is also another path that some people take.. where they say that the best way to break an engine in is to do 10 to 12 full throttle acceleration runs when the engine is fully warmed up to operating temperature.. but I'm not sure that I'd buy much into that approach personally.

Checkout your owners manual bish !!!!!!! Everybody has their own theories but Infiniti just can't be wrong !!!!!1111111111111111eleven
Basically, they say this:
-Don't go over 4,000rpm's
-Don't keep the engine at a constant rpm for a long time (no cruise control for you!)
-Always warmup the car properly
Do all this for the first 1,200 miles, and warm the car up properly for the life of the vehicle.
Essentially, the break-in period pretty much has to be worthless nowadays as mad people whip the living shizzle out of their cars during break-in and they still get proper gas mileage and performance out of their vehicles, but if you can help yourself, then follow the manufacturer's advice.

Does anyone have info on the one where the shift 4k rpms all the way to about 150mph(i know itll pass 4k rpms).. then they just let it go back to 0 mph. without pressing anything to let it idle?
i think its for turbos but im not sure..
