Default Any Suggestions?

Well today was a relatively good day until I went to my sister's house. I parked right infront of her house and left it there for probably 3-5 hours. I got out of the house and found a huge scratch going right across my hood. I have a black car and it was pretty dusty from not washing it for about 2 weeks. I see hand prints all over it and over it was the huge scratch. I assume it's from a key cause those are what these punk kids usually would use when they get jealous or just downright hate my car. I wanted to call the cops but I dont think they would bother and my sis said that there are these punk kids around the neighborhood that usually do this crap. My question is what have you guys use to fix your scratch. Ive use meguiars scratch x , regualr wax, Krt Scratch Out. So I brought it home and I used Kit Scratch Out which usually works for my other cars but it didnt work for this one. After about an hour of buffing it I can still see scratches. On some part of the hood I was able to get some of the scratches off and on some I see white lines which the key prob went deeper than the other ones. Any suggestions in what else to use on it? Thnx sorry for the long entry

Th clay bar only gets the dirt out of the paint that washing does not.

Further more, sorry to see your irritation. I would say turn a bad situation into an opportunity and it you absoluly had to get the hood re painted then got a carbon fiber hood and paint that one. I might be eay off here but maybe you could make some thing bad into something good.

Sorry to hear about that... i feel you though, cuz i had my car key'd from front fender to rear wheel flarings on BOTH SIDES!

I tried the scratch x on my car, it got only the surface scratches out. As far as the scratches the go down to the primer and deeper, i don't think you can do anything short of repainting. all the buffing and wax and scratch fillers wont do you any good if the scratch is deep and wide enough.

Let me know if you find something that works... for now, i'm just living with the scratches. Even though it sticks out like a sore thumb everytime i walk up to or around my car.

Good luck.

i got most of it off... I was gona try a clay bar and opted not to. I used meguairs scratch x on it and got half the scratches off. Some are still there and visible when you look at it at diff angles. Im gona spend another hour doing that this weekend with a buffer machine hope it gets out. If it doesnt ill prob let it get dusty more often so you cant see it
