Default Please help Fujitsubo Exhaust Owners!

Hey, i am having a really hard time aligning the metal mounts on the muffler to the rubber mounts on the car. Dare i say it seems impossible to align them... The side with the two mounts just doesnt line up at all, if i get one in, the muffler sits crooked and the long mount is far from being in the right place to line up!? I know i did not do anything wrong because i tried 20 different positions to line them. My last option is to bend the mounts. Is this possible, needed, or is there another way???

Mine lined up ok. Here's a stupid question, are you sure that it isn't a 350Z exhaust? How far off are we talking?

You may want to set the old exhaust down next to the new one and check to be sure that the mounts are in generally the same place.

ok, here is the deal...the exhaust is for the g35, but i was having a really hard time aligning the metal mounts. I ended up slightly bending the steel mounts on the muffler to better align with the rubber. I got the top two mounts in securly, but the last mount (the one which protrudes farthest back) just barely has its head in the rubber mount. (i dont know if its ok to drive like that) Other then that the muffler is very secur-feeling. Also, when i started the car and drove a bit, i smelled a slight burning smell, very similar if not identical to the smell when you rev your engine high. I believe this is just because it is a new muffler, as i did not notice any gass leak. Please reassure me that this is OK, or give some advice as to how to fix it!
Thanks so much

The burning smell is normal, it'll last a couple of days.

I'd want to get that stud all the way into the mount though. Are we talking about the one closest to the tips on the passenger side or drivers side?

yeah, thats the one im talking about...only the tip of that mount is inserted into the rubber part. Its very possible for it to slip out, but I jsut want to know if that is a hazzard, and if I should take it to a shop to get them to straighten it out. I just dont want to shop to say "oh we have to do this this this this and this so that will run you $500 lol." And I also dont want my exhaust falling off and dragging behind my car...(hopefully this wont happen as i mentioned the other mounts as well as the bolts are secure.)

If the top 2 are all way in, then there isn't much chance of it falling off. You could possibly have problems with vibration though.

Mine has gotten progressively louder. Not a whole lot, but enough to notice. I still love it.

yeah, i got everything straighten out. The mount is no big deal, my friend took a loot at it and said that 2 mounts are sufficient to hold up a dual. This one is still in the mount, surprisingly, after I've driven about 15 miles. If anything ill stop by the shop and get them to pull it in. Love the sound. Its deep, but does not resonate inside at all. I wouldnt mind it a tad bit louder at all. I can also feel the push it provides the car...unless thats just placebo haha. I can post some pics if anyone is interested.
