No Brembo's on 2005 models. Many rumors as to why... wear too quickly, replacement too costly, easily damaged during brake jobs, etc. I can tell you that I experienced all of the above with mine! Although, I still love them.

with the new options they added on the 05 they wanted to keep the price down so they excluded the brembo(s)

I had problems with my Brembo Brakes. They are very nosiy at low speeds, around 20 MPH. I took my car to a friend who owns a shop and he could not find the problem. So I went to the infiniti dealer. They told me they had problems with the brembo brakes (same as my problems) that's why they went with a different brake in 2005. Since the brembos are so expensive, I will wait until they completely wear before I go with a new brake. One last note, they said there was no warranty from brembo for noise, because the brakes work.

The noise issue is well documented with the Brembos. As the others are saying it's not a problem mechanically, just one where your brakes are squeeking. I find that when mine start to squeek, I just wash them and get the brake dust buildup out of there and the sound goes away.

I have had zero problems with mine (I'm up to about 9k miles).

I do not think that Nissan deleted the Brembos due to the numerous complaints about dusting and noise. I think Nissan dumped the Brembos so they could charge the same amount for a G despite deleting an option that is several hundred more than a stock OEM brake system.

Gzire is right, Brembo is a very reputable company. They still have them in select 350z models.

I guess this is kinda off topic but its better than starting a new post but...
have any of you guys heard of anyone that switched from brembo to like generic brand? i have a 04 so i do have them, and i'm loving them, except they do squeek a lot when im comin to a stop. i have about 18,000 miles so i don't think i need to service them yet. i heard its gonna cost a grip to service... i'm actually considering switching to generic brand brakes if they cost what i've been told (some guy said it costs $1600) to service. he has an 05 so maybe he's just exaggerating for the sake of his non-brembos

Alexn103 the cost to service the Brembos really depends on what you would be doing.

Pads only you can do yourself and save the labor. Pads only (if you went Hawk HPS) a tad over $100 for the front and a bit over $70 for the rears.

Resurfacing the rotors will be cheap and if you want to buy new rotors you should be looking on the low end at $400 per axle for OEM and more if you want to go slotted and/or cross drilled.

I estimate you are looking at something like $1,400 if you replace (4 each rotors with OEM / front pads with Hawk HPS / rear pads with Hawk HPS / 4.5 hours of shop time for changes). This is for everything entirely new (less calipers of course). I highly doubt that you'd be replacing everything.

If you need to replace calipers just keep in mind that the most problems being experienced are with the OEM brake system, not the Brembos. The Brembo complaints are noise and dust, not destruction of the rotors and/or calipers.

clizoman- really dude it's 2005 no need for that sort of stereotypical bullshit........

while the 05 brakes don't say brembo on them, they were a upgrade over the non brembo 04's....And the stopping numbers are similar, the pedal feel just sucks, and I think if you were to upgrade the pads, rotors, fluid and lines you would have a pretty nice brake setup...it would just be ugly.

and besides the 05's have nicer wheels and a I think a more potent motor once the aftermarket figures the rev-up motor out.

For 4 locations? They are either stolen, used, not Brembos, or a combination of all three.
