Default Taking off waxes and polishes...

What's the best way to get the dried crusted wax and polish out from under weatherstripping and door seals??

May be tough but Dawn Dish wash is always recommended to strip wax from the sheet metal of the car. You can try that.

If still some there and unable to strip, try Back to Black by Mothers.

Someone once told me that white vinegar also works.

The best way to prevent all that is by using the blue painters tape. It may take you a bit longer to do but it will save you from having the hassle of trying to remove the polish/wax off of your weather stripping later.

You can use a horsehair brush or soft bristle toothbrush.

Clay bar it. Time intensive, but it's the best way IMO. Have at least 5 hours available since you'll need to:

Wash (with Dawn or other dish washing liquid)
Rinse
Claybar about 1-2 sq ft at a time
Rinse
Wash again
Rinse
Apply Wax
Polish
Apply Wax again (and polish... repeat as many times as you can - 5-7 gives a DEEP shine)
Finish with a gloss enhancer

Zaino sells kits for this process.

Remember... Wax on... Wax off...

Sincerely,

Mr. Miagi

Will try it next time. I usually only get a few weekends a Summer to get that kinda work in. Always worth it though.
