when you type in retail value, Excellent Condition is the only option. i dont know where you got your quote, but this is what i found on my link...
every new and most used car dealers i have known of spend a considerable amt of money ($500 or more) to recondition their vehicles. they're not just going to take it in on a trade and throw it on the lot. that'll bring their dealership down.
also, 'excellent' is going to hold a different standard on a 2003 than it would on a 2006. you cannot expect 0 flaws on a 6 year old car.
I got my quote from entering private party sales (where you can select different conditions). It is a buyers market!
LOL, I think you are waaaaaayyyyy too trusting of used car sales. Like I said before, just because it's on a dealers lot doesn't mean it's automatically "excellent" (less than 5% are, remember).
I know what you mean, but I don't believe the standard is intended to be so forgiving....excellent means excellent, period!
well when i said 'i know of', i meant personally. i have friends at many of the new/used car dealers here, and one of them owns a used car lot here. so i can only speak of those ones. they will generally put 4 new tires on, recondition the leather and interior and usually do atleast some touch up paint work.
i know there's some dealerships that sell cars with mis-matched tires, dents, body damage, faded/torn leather etc. so i cant speak for all.

uh..its a poormans G35..its more of a knock off of the G...i had an 08 altima 4 banger before i got my G and it was nice..but the interior is bland....the v6 is almost as quick as the G but its back end is terrible looking...and for a price of almost $30K for the v6 its better to get a G...the I4 is nice but wont be an improvement over that Celica
You can get a better equipped car (IMO better car), slightly used, for what a new AC V6 would cost. Can you say torque steer? or understeer (even worse anyway)?
I'll admit it's a decent looking car, have yet to see one up close in person so I will hold off on final judgment.

and RWD>FWD
it's not that great looking up close. i mean, for what it is, it's OK. the altima has never been known as a head turner... but you're absolutely correct. for the price, there's much better out there...
