C&D did a little blurb about the car too. They had a picture of it in the coupe form and it didn't look all that bad. Of course the fact that it gets the 300hp TT I-6 makes it look all that much better. And it weighs around 300 lbs less than the 335i and has a better power-to-weight ratio than the last M3. C&D predicts the 0-60 time should be about 4.5 secs. All this for a base price of $35,000. Sounds like a good deal to me!

I saw that, plus it's about 300 lbs lighter than the 335i. Those angle shots can be deceiving though, I'd like to see a side shot of the 135i.

See highlighted text above I need to see more shots of the coupe. And of course it always best to see it in person.
My coworker wants to get this car. He's a big hatchback guy and currently drives a GTI. This car is a perfect match for him. I think the car looks good most the new generations of BMW and the TT engine makes this car even better. I think I'd rather have a 335 coupe or sedan over this but if you're a hatchback guy I think this is certainly the best hatchback coming out that I know of.

This car isn't bad at all (numbers wise), but just looks like a small X3 to me. What is its competition, the Audi A3???
I don't think anything is really in its class. Based price of $35k and can hit 60 in 4.5 seconds. Performance wise, the closest thing would be the new EVO's and STI's.

for the overall car, the competition would be the a3 for sure. the TT motor will not be the only engine in the 1 series so they won't all be that fast. plus if audi brought over the s3, the 135 would have competition somewhat.

which is funny because it adds a BMW luxury element to the mix.....but real tuners wont go near it....stick to the evo IX or an 04-05 STI I say, all these new ones coming out are ugly as hell....the EVO X, the "proposed" STI, and then this....ugly, ugly, ugly
