Default Navigation not working

Hello all. I recently purchased my second G35 Coupe (my previous one was stolen in 06. It's an 04 Model and is equipped with Navigation. When I got the car, it was missing the DVD ROM for the NAV so I found and downloaded both the update disc and the Navigation Disc. I first inserted the Update disc, whicht he DVD-ROM sucked in, but did not recognize. Now, the DVD-ROM will not eject the disc, though it makes noise as it is trying to. I did a search but didn't find any threads on this so any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if the DVD-ROM needs to be replaced (which I am hoping is not the case), will any Nissan/Infiniti DVD-ROM work or are they model specific. Thanks!

I don't know how to eject the disc. The navigation disks are version specific. You need version 6.8 (the newest) but other 6.x versions will work.

Thanks for your quick reply. I was actually asking about the DVD-ROM Drive itself. If it does not eject and/or read the discs, i thought I might have to have it replaced as I have read that this is usually the case. Are the DVD-ROM Drives for Nissan/Infiniti Model Specific?

It was the weirdest thing. When I got the car and looked at the navigation, It said that the DVD-ROM was missing. I assumed the previous owner took it and sold it or something, so I downloaded a new disc and inserted it. That's when the disc got stuck. After looking all over the internet for a solution to get a disc out I got frustrated and just took a pair of tweezers to pull out the disc. That didnt work, so i took a thin screwdriver with ductape at the end and got the disc out that way. When I pulled the disc out, it wasn't the disc that I put in. It was the original NAV DVD that supposedly was missing. Then i removed the backup that I put in there and put the original back in and viola.. it worked. Weird.

This is an older post - so he may not respond, but I believe you can download it from "The Pirate Bay". Just google it - theres tons of movies and music and stuff to download.
