Just so you know, I just had bought a 06 G35 Coupe and I love her!!! Only downside is she is automatic but I have no complaints.
Anyways, I've had this Monster FM Transmitter cable that hooks up to the v12 outlet. I am so tired of it because I seem to get stuck in places where the radio has a bad connection. I was checking out the USA SPEC ipod docks do those have the same sound quality as my FM transmitter.
There are 4 ways to connect to the OEM radio. 1. OEM Nissan interface, 2. PAC-Audio AAI-NIS, USASpec, and a device from Peripheral. They all have their pros and cons. All but the Nissan unit require you to remove the radio to get to the back of it.

My advice is ditch the FM transmitter. The sound quality is not that good - a direct connection will be much better. I listen to my ipod all the time in my G, so I bought the Peripheral ipod connector which charges it at the same time. But definitely do some research on what product you think will work best for your needs. If you are installing it yourself, it's definitely a project you don't want to do more than once.
The Nissan interface is the easiest to install I just installed mine and tooke me a little over an hour, all the other you'll have to remove the head unit which is amazingly complicated on a g35.
