Default can you add sat radio + ipod +possibly a sub into stock 2005 g35 bose premium stereo?

I'm picking up my baby tomorrow (05 g35 6mt, bose premium sound no navi...) and it doesnt have ipod as far as i can see, and has a 6 disc in dash changer. I will DIE without my ipod, and would also like to get sirius in there hardwired (NOT via fm transmitter either). I'd also love steeringwheel control for the ipod if possible..... Saw this on everythingg35: EverythingG35.com - G35 Parts, Factory Accessories and Performance Modifications.
would that work for my car? how do i check if my car is prewired for sat?

thanks,
Alex

Congrats on your car and welcome to 6MT! You can add sources to your stereo with an PAC interface from crutchfield. You can add sirius through that or get the tuner that the car is prewired for. I have had sat both ways, a sat fits nicely in the gps location nicely and you have a better screen. plus its cheaper. You should consider a car computer with a 7" touch screen in the nav location. I've got a PC, but I have herd of people converting macs for 12v. Adding a sub is no problem, just come off the rear deck speakers to an amp with speaker level input.

hmm--is there a way to have iPod control from the steering wheel/deck, like there is with that adapter i linked? I'm trying to figure out what will be cheaper:going aftermarket with a navi deck and using an ipod/sat adapter with that (i'm wary of that, had a disaster installing a stereo in my old saab due to weird fiber optic BS).

i was looking at a carnetix power supply + mac mini + touchscreen, i would KILL for that... but i don't think ill be able to afford it for a while. the stock speakers in the g with the bose premium are pretty damn good, it just needs some knock, which is why i'm reluctant to replace the deck if i don't have to, saves a lot of $ and prevents a lot of problems hehe..

I really can't say for sure what's available for the steering wheel control other than I remember seeing an interface somewhere, but I'm not sure what all you can do with it. well if you did go the carputer route there's ways to get somethong up and running cheap, I got a used screen from ebay and I just modded a small desktop for 12v. the bose speakers aren't bad some people will disagree. for as much as it would cost to significantly improve the sound, I'll keep the stock speakers for a while.

agreed on waiting on improving the sound-if you have premium sound all its really missing is some good EQ and some LOW FREQUENCY BASS. That and inputs for ipod and sat is all i need and im a happy camper!

Congrats on the new car and welcome to 6mt.

The unit from everythingg35.com is the only interface that allows you to have ipod and OEM satellite connectivity and control both from your radio AND keep the steering wheel controls. I have one in my sedan. you just have to disconnect the iPod to listen to satellite radio.

everythingg35.com is also a great place to get the sat tuner. Both the tuner and the ipod adapter are easy to install yourself.

As for adding a sub, that is fairly simple with the Bose system. Look in the audio section at g35driver.com. 4080 Enclosures has nice sub enclosures that look like they came from the factory.
