Default Pics of the G35 show car I recently did :)

post on G35driver a lot, and someone suggested i should put up some pics here too

First off, sorry for the bad pics, my lack of skills and crappy camera leaves me no choice. I am sure plenty of other pics will follow soon!
Anyway, i recently had the chance to work on this beautiful Lambo yellow G35 Coupe. It has become my official show car so to speak.
The goal for this car is something i have long dreamed of doing -- an install that can get respect on the show circuit, yet still keep to my principle of simplicity, elegant, and classy.
i was unrestricted by the need to preserve trunk space, so the only goal is that it looks nice and sounds good
so lets get started with the pics!
the entire stack all the way through the car has been painted two tone black and yellow. I molded the double din finisher so the eclipse nav unit can sit pretty flush...again, sorry for the bad pics:

here are some more shots of the painted center console

DLS Ultimate Iridium 6.3 3 way components makes up the front stage. The midbass is sealed in a fiberglass cup in the door, and the midrange and tweeter are flushed into the factory kicks:

Note DLS logo on the stock grille

the DLS subbass controller is hidden away in the center console:

moving on to the trunk. Starting off with a floating amp rack idea suggested by the customer, this is where we ended up
two metal plates were welded to the stillen strut brace, and then the amp rack bolted to it. The crossovers curves out of the floor, holding two xovers each side. the image dynamics idmax sub sits in a recessed curved well in the middle, and the massive DLS A7 5 channel amp floats above. the install features all black wiring, passed through neatly, parts painted to match the exterior, and black vinyl floor. here are the pics from all the angles:

there are a bank of LEDS sunk into the back panel to project light forward to cast a yellow glow on everything...but i will wait for night time to take and post those pics
so far it sounds great even without tuning, and in my mind, my goals are completely achieved
here are two behind the scenes pics showing some of the work not seen, first a fully dampened door with the fiberglass door pod holding the iridium midbass, and secondly, all the wires behind the amp are wire tied and secured down to the floor:

And here is a better pic taken by the customer with his camera to bgetter show off the colors lol

I moved your thread to the Audio & Navigation section because I think it will get more traffic here than in the Electronics Market Place section

those kicks arent angled right. plus the highs should be aimed at the drivers ear, not the kick. midbass is for the kick. u should of done the phase alignment and put those in the front pillar to have a more centered sound

this is where you are wrong

quite a efw speakers, espeically DLS ultimates, sound GREAT off axis, the image is well centered and staging is at eye level.

i have done about half a dozen Gs with the exact same set up and they all sound similar

believe your ears not your eyes.

A pillar mounting is not my favorite, it takes a lot of tuning to get it tsound right, and often can only offer driver and or passenger center image.

but again, i guess i have to say this everytim ei post a off axis kick install, people will always doubt until they hear the car

yes but pillar mounting is the best, and it can be centered perfectly when 4 inch speakers are in the kick and 6.5 in the door

nice!!!

yea, I know that car!!! looks like it is progressing well!!!

look at the paint job@@@!!! they got the engine bay and door sills too!!!

good work with the system!! looks nice and neat, even the insulation is cut very clean-ly!

the funny thing is, that the the little light that illuminates around the ignition kind of matches the paint!

last time I saw the car, I thought it had shaved door handles tho
