Default Funny FM audio <maybe> issue?

2004 g35 Premium Audio package, Stock.

When driving today (which goes without saying), I realized the radio station changed on its own from FM1 Preset 1 to FM2 Preset 1. I toggled the mode button (it is a full thumb stretch...I do not believe I hit it by accident) to get back to FM1...but only saw "FM" and "87.1" on the display. I did not try the other presets as I was pulling into work, but did go back to FM2...then toggle again...same thing. As FM1 was gone or dead.

I wonder if the header is intelligent enough to "listen" for the signal...if the transmission dies will it just stop? I would think it would have moved to FM1 Preset 2, not FM2 Preset 1.

Oddly it worked fine when I went to lunch and on the way home today, however I swear I hear "snaps" coming from the speakers. Very low though.
Plan to visit the dealer on this, unless it just dropped the signal?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thank you.
