Tire Advice. Ventus V4Es H105 or Falken Ziex 912 or 512
I've done a lot of searching on the forums and haven't seen anything significant about the above tires mentioned. I'm at 31k on my 04 6MT sedan, and I'm looking for a good performer that will at least delay my snow changeover to thanksgiving here in upstate NY. That means cold temps, and perhaps a dusting of snow here or there. The HANKOOK VENTUS V4ES seem like a steal at PEP Boys, 540 after rebate for 4, mounted balanced, NY tax and warranty, though Consumer's had them ranked 15th in a previous review of all-season UHP tires. (the 912's were first, though they don't LOOK as aggressive, and the 512 is an older tire). My current tires (avon tech, summer only) are spent. I'm willing to sacrifice a little performance since this will probably be my last summer with the car.
Any experiences with the above tires? Any other advice would be helpfule as well. The yoko S-drive will be my choice if I have to go for a straight summer tire again.
