The answer to your question is ....they definitely should have to pay you the value of the original rim. You've paid your premiums to the insurance company to insure your car for replacement/repair value to its oem condition....period! You already paid for that level of coverage...now they are obligated to provide the reimbursement benefit at the level you paid for...nothing more, nothing less.

What is not clear though, is how much validity the dealership has with its claim that the order has already been initiated and that you must then pay return fees to cancel out the order. Are they really doing all this behind your back?, or were you perhaps not aware of what paperwork was being generated?? DID YOU SIGN ANYTHING so far????? If so, what did it say???

If things have gotten hostile with the dealership, why not talk directly to your insurance company now and tell them what you want to do...(remember, you are entitled to the benefit you paid for and they know it)...maybe they can help you out with the dealer by just not paying them. After all, their contract is with you, and not the dealer......UNLESS YOU DID SIGN A REPAIR CONTRACT ALREADY.
