$4,174 for wheels/tires!!!! HOLY CRAP!! that is an absolutely awesome settlement dude. That is plenty of money to get yourself set up.

You should not fear your dealer; they can't make you do anything and probably would be happy to accomodate you if you asked them. Besides, it is your car and your insurance check. The dealer may prefer to sell you their rims and make more profit off of you, but I can't imagine them pressuring you to do that. Many dealers will put aftermarket rims on their new cars (and sell them at a markup), so they shouldn't have any problem putting aftermarket rims on for you. I would expect the dealer's concerns would be about
1) turnaround time...if you are waiting on rims ordered elsewhere.
2) liability... for any non-standard rim fitment or spacer useage.

If you are at least offering your business to the dealer, you have NOT taken advantage of them in any way and they can choose whether or not they want to do business with you. If they don't, then by all means, go somewhere else. A quality tire/rim store will almost always charge less than your dealer anyway.
