I am Legend. There is no salvation for humanity in the book, unlike the two movies. In the book the dominant race on Earth will be the infected humans.
Also in the book Neville is never a scientist although he tries to work on a way to solve the issue of the infection (more as a way to kill them at first).
Anyhow it's interesting how the two movies (Omega Man & I am Legend) took bits of the book for their use.
