Also, I know that people, including myself, think the base 328i motor (230hp 6L) is weak but it really wasn't all that far behind the power king (G35S sedan). 5.5 sec. to 60 for the G35S sedan and 6.1 for the 328i. High 13 1/4 for the G35S and 14.1 for the 328i. I guess this is the "real" reason the Germans are still winning the war.

Car and Driver?
strange how reviews go. 0-60-1/4 mile times and performance meant nothing with the G35S and 328i comparo to bimmer guys that called it a fair comparo yet the motor trend 335i vs G37S comparo (with almost the same variences) was spat at by the same people.
i think a lot of mag reviews are taken as gospel truth. the 328i also beat out the IS350 on another mag (road and track or Driver) but it wasn't because of performance...but because of 'fun factor'. what??? 'fun factor'?? that's about as intangible as it gets.
btw-i've driven the 328i and G35S and the G35S was definately more fun to drive. again this is my review. which in the grand scheme of things hold as much value as a car mag...it's all opinion.
