and no one in their right mind would buy a vette thats closely price to a ferrari over a ferrari.

the average owner of a vette has an income of around 50-70k. you are able to afford a vette at that price but not a ferrari. if that was the case you would even see more Z06's on the road

a vette that cost 100k is plain stupid. you couldnt get me to buy one. and not many other will. not when you can get a 911 turbo for 120k or an even faster Nissan GTR for 80k

oh and adding, i hate that the vette is starting to look more and more like a ferraris. the 2013 vette looks just like one. which is sad b/c chevy need to stay in their own lane not copy someone else
Ok, so let's look at this. I'll start with the GT-R comment. There isn't one in production yet, so anything that is stated about that car, at this point, is speculation, and void. The 911 Turbo can't run with a 'Vette on the track. That's why it's in the GT class. 2013 is 5 years away. Again, speculation, and guessing. There's probably not even a clay model of that car, yet. It's a drawing on a sheet of paper.

I'm all about numbers, and facts. Show me your source for the demographics of the 'Vette owner. Are we talking new buyer, or pre-owned buyer? Different markets, different demographics. And I'm just guessing, but I think your numbers are low.

Back to my posting, you'll notice that I said:

If Chevy kicks everything up a notch in the car, and refines it, it'll be on the same field as anything coming out of Germany, or Italy.
EVERYTHING means EVERYTHING, right? So what happens if you continue on the path that Chevy has done with the 'Vette (standard model to Z06 to the Lingenfelter,Callaway, etc), and what Porsche has done with the 911 (Carrera/Targa to the TT and the GT3), and make a step up from the Z06? What's so stupid about that? Bet you'd sell a few.

I also disagree with your statement that nobody in their right mind who could afford a Ferrari would drive a 'Vette. It happens all the time already. Crank everything up a notch in the 'Vette, along with the price, and you're still going to sell them.

There's a reason that 'Vettes have been around since 1953. Not even Porsche and the 911 can say that. They were here long before you were, and I'll take a guess that they'll be here long after we're both gone.
