well here are the steps required.

1. Buy an external "Switcher". because the factory Navi Screen is designed to only utilize their source (DVD-ROM FOR NAVI CD), you need to be able to switch and go back and forth through the new dvd player and the old dvd rom drive. The thing i reccomend here is an AV Switcher. Basically, it has 3 inputs and outputs, you in addition to running the new dvd player, you can run a video game system or any other option you want. This is the best thing to do and allows for expansion in the future.

2. sound. if you buy the above AV Video switcher, the sound will be through their internal FM Modulator. THis means that in order to listen to the DVD, you need to turn the radio on the frequency coinciding with this. THis quality is only descent however, if you want something a little more vivid and dynamic there is another option we can discuss.

3. dvd player. obviously you need this. a descent one costs a few hundred bucks. i would reccomend using SAVV because they are very good, and the picture quality is amazing for car video.

let me know what you want to do for option number2, and then i can help more
