Hmm I totally disagree G. These days most of the games out there are very tolerant to different specs and as long as you system isn't set up like crap games should run pretty smoothly. I built my system, not from scratch but upgraded everything except for the harddrive and the CD ROM and my games run smoothly even though I don't know jack about building computers. I've been out of it a couple of years, but once you start loading a bunch of different software on your computer it just gets funky. When I got my first system with XP it was no different.
Unreal Tournament killed my interest in running games on a PC. Now it's out for the gaming consoles. Just too much headaches and the machine I had was cutting edge at the time I got it, a total speed monster.
