That's too bad about you not joining. One thing to consider is that Lokey Infiniti will be announcing a "special incentive" for all new car buyers that are MEMBERS of the club within the next week or so. John Oliva the service director is working the details with the owner and the sales director starting tomorrow.
Also, don't think of it as buying a T-Shirt for $25 (we are selling them to anyone for $20). That is the completely wrong perspective. Think of it as joining a car club that will, in some way, be able to benefit you at some point down the road. Whether it be a big discount on your new G (due to Lokey Infiniti's involvement), a cool T-Shirt and a free lunch at Lokey Infiniti in March, or any of the other things we put together in the near term future (we'll be having at least 3 more MAJOR meets this year at other locations around the state). At my first meet I learned about wheel offsets and how they affect lip sizes. This was WAY WORTH me attending the meet. I learned that I didn't want a 10.5" wheel in the back because I saw what one looked like. I also learned that a 9.5" wheel just looked too small for me. This led me to the 19 x 10.0" rear rims on my PIAA's that I have and love. I also got to see aftermarket 20's and decided that they were just too big IMO. The pictures online DEFINITELY look different than when seeing the wheels in person. It's the experiences like that which should make being involved so important to YOU.
As of March 1st the CHARTER MEMBER program will be over. The club membership fee will be increased to be more in line with BMWCCA and the AUDI Club of North America. Infiniti is a MAJOR marquis vehicle, as is BMW and AUDI. There is no reason why our Florida club cannot be just as successful as the others. Once the club is better established we will be scheduling driving events (with certified instructors) and other neat things along those lines. The more people that get involved, the sooner these types of events will be possible. (Hey, it all costs money and the membership fees and sponsorships all add up!)
I sure hope you reconsider.
As for MilesDavis, I sure hope he visits our "local watering hole" on G35driver SE Forum. Feel free to submit your ideas and suggestions to help the club grow in a direction that it can benefit you best.
FYI, as of now we are 24 members and growing. There are also more people that have told me they will be joining, they just have to set up their Paypal accounts. Not bad for a club that's been established for ~3 weeks.
