Default Movie Reviews

This has been a theory of mine for a long time, and my friends and I have made a habit of including something like this if we send emails to each other about movies we just saw. What I am referring to are the "quotes" from reviewers you always see in the paper, in commercials or on movie posters, etc.

It's always something like "Hilarous" or "Amazing" or some other such single word or phrase that could have come from anywhere - you are never given the context of the quote. So a while back I started writing movie reviews to my friends and then afterwards I'd throw in the "quotes" you would likely see from the studio that made the movie. They started doing it back, and so on.

This is perhaps best explained by a quick example, let's say for a horror movie. The review might go something like:

The only horror in this film was the fact that it ever got made. The fact that some studio actually paid money to someone to film this crap should scare the hell out of you cause it means there's no sense left in Hollywood. There's no plot to speak of, not that a horror film needs a deep plot, but I think there should be some engrossing reason for people to sit there and watch 27 murders happen onscreen. Anyway, if you want scary, try Dawn of the Dead, it's scarier than anything else out there at the moment.

And now the quotes:

chirstius from 6mt.net says "[it will] scare the hell out of you"
chirstius from 6mt.net says "a deep plot... engrossing"
chirstius from 6mt.net says "scarier than anything else out there"

Seeing as how bad most movies suck these days I swear this is what's happening. I'm not sure why I'm sharing this here but I'm bored and I just wanted to see if anyone else felt the same way.

If you have any movie reviews (with quotes) feel free to share them.
