Howdy Kango, remembered the name, but couldn't place you for a while.
As for the Altima, it's basically the same engine as the G with slight mods to the intake and exhaust. Running against a G with chrome rims could easily chop a couple of tenths off a 1/4 mile (saw a post of a guy down here. He ran his G with stock, then after market wheels back to back. He lost 4(?) tenths in the 1/4, the run with stocks were faster). Seeing as how the G sedan was running chrome (and most likely 19's), this plus a good jump off the line means you are right there, or in front of us.
Good choice in a car. My friend just sold his 3.5 Altima and went with a Murano (Moo Rano - [

]) due to an expansion to his family...baby girl.
