i've been to oahu twice already... yep hanauma bay is nice but getting way too crowded. there's some great snorkeling in north shore but not during the winter time due to the winter swells. it should be interesting, i've never been to hawaii during the winter. i hear there are some 40" waves along sunset, pipeline and waimea during that time of year. my favorite in oahu is the rainbow drive in...damn good local food.

I went to Sunset a few Decembers back during the surfing triple crown and the waves were only ~3-5 feet [
] I was hoping to see some monsters. The waves kicked up to 10-15 the next day, so the competition resumed, but I still dídn't get to see any big ones.
There's a great local breakfast place near the Outrigger Reef in Waikiki too. Real cheap and good food.
